The Eddie Jackson tenure on the Chicago Bears has officially come to an end. According to the Bears official X account, he and veteran offensive lineman Cody Whitehair, have been released from the team today.

Jackson was drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He’s been with the team ever since, which included some pretty stellar seasons. He finishes his Bears career having played 100 games, racking up 459 tackles, 15 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and 6 touchdowns along the way.
Eddie Jackson on his day was pretty unbelievable. He struggled through some of the seasons in the middle, and I was personally ready to give up on him before the 2022 season. However, he has proven himself more than capable these past two seasons, and I will be sorry to see him go. I will never forget the 2018 season he had. He was crucial in securing the Bears their 12-4 record and NFC North Championship that year. He had 6 interceptions, including 2 that went for touchdowns, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery that went for a scoop and score. He was a dependable deputy for the Bears at safety, and I wish him all the best in the future (as long as he doesn’t go to the Packers).
